Some people might tell you it from London Downing Street

    Well… That’s not quite true

The London Downing Street was given its name from "George Downing" A rather unpleasant Diplomat.

In fact, there are few similarities between Farnham’s Downing Street and London’s.
Farnham’s Downing street is less "exclusive" and is a trade area filled with estate agents, charity shops, residential areas and retail business.

Downlinking Street in Farnham is named this way, because it was once used by the monks of Waverly Abbey. The monks would visit their bishop at Farnham castle, and would literally take the street "down" from the town and back to their home

    Significance of Farham:
It is the second oldest named settlement in Surrey
One of the earliest medieval planned towns
It has the most continuously occupied castles
Farham has the largest parish church!
